The highly anticipated new Visual Studio RTM 2015 was officially announced yesterday during a full-day release event, where Microsoft also revealed VS 2013 Update 5, and TFS 2013 Update 5. And we’re pleased to say that our developer tools are – as they have always been - fully compatible with this new Visual Studio release!
With these releases, Microsoft promises ‘’to bring the productivity of Visual Studio and .NET to any developer working on any kind of application while also delivering a new level of innovation in developer productivity for all Visual Studio developers.’’ And to deliver a seamless experience for Infragistics customers, we’ve worked hard to ensure that our complete UX and UI toolkit, Infragistics Ultimate, fully supports all of the new features found in VS 2015 RTM.
S. Somasegar, the Corporate Vice President of the Developer Division at Microsoft kicked off the event by giving a comprehensive overview with demos on how to get started with Visual Studio 2015, .NET 4.6 and Visual Studio Online.
The main highlights of this release focus on cross-platform mobile development with any platform - iOS, Android and Windows, backend development on Windows Server and Linux, game development targeting Unity, Unreal, Cocos, and more. Delivering on its mission to redefine developers’ productivity, Visual Studio 2015 features also ‘’proactive diagnostics tooling and the new Roslyn language services for C# and VB.’’ Following the roadmap Microsoft outlined last November, the releases of Visual Studio 2015, Team Foundation Server 2015, and Visual Studio Online mark the next big step in Microsoft’s journey as they seek to “help teams to embrace DevOps with great agile backlog management, Azure cloud tooling, hosted continuous integration, and Application Insights across all the components of your application.’’
See what’s new in Visual Studio RTM 2015!
